Tuning is . . . .
a faculty-driven higher education "reform" movement that seeks to improve access and success in higher education. Faculty gather (in this case virtually) to define and demystify degree programs. The deliverables from the tuning process help students, parents of prospective students, employers and other stakeholders understand what is learned, how it is learned and how the learning is assessed in particular degree programs. At its best, tuning is a cyclical process where stakeholders provide feedback, and faculty consider new pedagogies and changes in the discipline to revise curricula and their approach to teaching and learning.
